It didn’t take long for Plainfield South to unleash its spread offense on its opponents.
The Cougars ran up 50 first half points Saturday night en route to a 50-6 win over Chicago Raby.
South called off the dogs at the half.
“We came in and did what we had to do,” South’s Dondre Adams said. “We did good for the first game. At the beginning we were getting the feel of the game and then we executed pretty well. We still have some mistakes to fix.”
“We were pretty excited and ready to play,” South’s Nick Pabon said. “We got the job done. It was a pretty fun game. We ran up the score real quick.”
There are pros and cons to putting away a team early in week one.
“It’s a little of both,” Adams said. “I’m glad we put them away early, but it would have been nice to get more competition. But we will get that down the road and we will need to limit the mistakes.”
Adams rushed 10 times for 133 yards with a 70-yard touchdown. Sheldon Magee added a 61-yard touchdown run and threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Alexander Flores. |
